How often should a scaffold be inspected?
It is important that scaffolds are inspected every time that they are used in order to ensure that they remain safe for use. This inspection should be done by a qualified person. It is also vital that the scaffold is inspected every time it is erected or altered, or after adverse weather such as a heavy rain, snow or strong winds. Adverse weather can undermine the strength and stability of the scaffold which can result into construction accidents.
If there is no adverse weather, we would recommend that the scaffold is inspected at least once every seven days unless when the scaffold is moved or altered, then the inspection should take place before it is used.
Even if you have a qualified person who can inspect the scaffold, you can rest assured that we would maintain best practices and inspect our equipment on a regular basis in any event. In the event that a fault is detected, unless you have a qualified person on site, make sure to let us know so that we can fix the problem before anyone uses the scaffold.
